Starting Tuesday, February 8, 2011, and every Tuesday thereafter, a new feature will run in the Crowley Post-Signal called Warrant Watch.
“In each Tuesday’s edition of the Post Signal, we will run arrest warrants on wanted persons who have active warrants with the Crowley Police Department or Crowley City Court,” stated Chief K.P. Gibson.
If a person recognizes someone who is wanted, they can call information in to Crime Stoppers at 789-TIPS (8477). If their information leads to an arrest, they will be paid for their information. Persons wanted on bench warrants or fugitive warrants only, can go to Crowley City Court, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m., and pay a $25 contempt fee to have the warrant recalled. A new court date will be set one time only.
“Our goal is to clear a heavy warrant file, which has burdened the Courts and Police for years. Some warrants are older warrants, however a warrant is valid until it is served. And our intention with this program is to clear outstanding warrants one way or another,” said Chief Gibson.
