Tuesday, the Rotary Club of Crowley presented its Vocational Award in the category of Support Personnel to Richard B. Griffin.

According to his nomination information, Griffin is a graduate of Crowley High School. He later attended the Crowley Vocational Technical School to study bookeeping and then the Lafayette Vo-Tech School to study computers.

He has been employed by the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court’s Office for the past 25 years and is currently the head of the research and copy department.

Griffin reproduces conveyance, mortgage and miscellaneous records, and his work and assistance are especially important to attorneys, abstractors and surveyors. In fact, all someone typically has to do if they are having trouble locating something in the clerk’s office is ask Griffin, and if the information is there, he will find it.

Griffin’s boss, Acadia Parish Clerk of Court Robbie Barousse, describes him as hard-working, conscientious and honest, noting that he is the first employee into work each day and that he usually has to tell him to go home at the end of the day.
