The focus of this combined effort of fundraising is to provide for the needs of this area’s small portion of the world through the efforts of the Community Outreach Corporation and the Crowley Christian Care Center.
These organizations fit together like the pieces of a beautiful puzzle and together they invite you to join them in a “caring way” as they present their very own version of “Dancing with the Stars.”
The charity fundraising gala is being co-chaired by Emily Stoma and Mary Zaunbrecher. Brenda Core of The Core Dance Studio is the chairwoman of the choreography team that has also generously donated their time and talent. Troy Breaux will act as financial chairman as well as the silent auction chairman.
The inaugural event will feature 11 couples, the “Stars of Acadiana.” Each week a new couple will be introduced to the public.
“Dancing with the Stars” is proud to announce the sixth couple and their choreographer selected to participate in this year’s gala.
Scott Sibley: Sibley is a registered medical technologist, owner and operator of Medical Center Laboratory for 38 years. He is a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, a member of the Lions Club, a charter member of the Crowley Jaycees and the Greedy Cajuns.
Sibley is the 2008 King Cimmer LIII and has enjoyed being a member of the Town Revelers for many years. He is also a member of the Crowley Chamber of Commerce.
Sibley is married to Ann Sheridan Sibley and is the father of Bryan, Kyle, Beau, Ryan and Carrie. He is the grandfather of five, with one on the way.
Donna Corley: Corley is the owner of Shetler-Corley Motors and Don Shetler Buick Chevrolet, Inc. She is married to George Corley and has two sons, Chris and Donald, who is married to Shawne. Corley is the grandmother of seven.
She has always been active in the Crowley community and is happy to help raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
The choreographer for Sibley and Corley is Emily Istre. Istre is originally from Crowley, where she studied at Core Dance Center (CDC). After graduation from CDC, she went on to teach dance until she moved to Las Vegas in 2006 to pursue a professional dance career. Shortly after her arrival, she was hired by Robin Antin to work as a Las Vegas Pussycat Doll.
In her five-and-a-half years in Las Vegas, she continued with the Pussycat Dolls and became a lead singer in 2011. In 2008, Emily attended Delgado Dance School, a ballroom dance company in Las Vegas, where she trained in cha cha, salsa, tango, waltz and foxtrot. In 2009, she was cast by Robin Antin as a “Dirty Virgin” in the Matt Goss show – which originally showcased at The Palms and later moved to Caesars Palace.
In her time with the Matt Goss show, Emily was named dance captain of the show and assisted Robin as a choreographer. She has performed in such venues as the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles and the Royal Albert Hall in London, and was a back-up dancer for Ken Leong, Niki Menaj and Pat Monahanin in the opening number of the 2011 Billboard Awards. Istre also appeared on the Oprah show with Celine Dion representing Caesars Palace as Cleopatra.
