Crowley man killed in car accident

A 20 year-old Crowley man, Seth Courville, was killed in a single-vehicle accident at about 4 p.m. Saturday on Lovell Street near its intersection with Leger Road. The driver of a KIA Optima was killed when the car crashed into a utility pole. The Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause of the crash.Investigating officers advised that according to witnesses the driver of the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when he over corrected and hit a ditch. Personnel from the Crowley Fire Department were called to the scene to perform an extrication. Also assisting were Acadian Ambulance, the Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office and personnel from Slemco, called out because a power line was knocked down in the crash.
