Willie Nelson, owner of Garden Lakes Laundromat, is answering the questions for today’s Small Business Snapshot.
What is the primary purpose of your business? Garden Lakes Laundromat is a laundromat available for persons who need large washers and dryers. I have 24 top loading, seven large washers and 18 dryers.
What is your business background? I am a retired master barber of 45 years.
Why did you start this particular business? I had a barbershop on the other end of the shopping center and a laundromat became available in 1977. I purchased it and moved shop next door to the laundromat.
What makes your business unique? We open early, at 5:30 a.m., and close at 10 p.m. seven days a week.
What do you enjoy most about your chosen profession? I enjoy meeting many new people and getting acquainted with them.
What has been the biggest or most interesting challenge to overcome as a small business owner? Learning how to work on and repair modern machines.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers? I try to operate a clean laundromat and treat people like I would want to be treated.
