It’s warm next to Santa Clause! 2010 Miss Merry Christmas Gase Broussard and Santa ride along Parkerson Ave. during Crowley’s Kiwanis Christmas parade Thursday night. Hundreds of people lined the streets despite the chilly conditions to help the city welcome in the Christmas season.

Crowley’s City Hall building was one of the main attractions Wednesday night during the second annual Christmas in Crowley. The talents of local computer programmer Lyn Askin were on display as a perfectly synchronized music and light show delighted those who attended the event. The event itself was deemed a huge success and organizers were already looking towards next year’s festivities.

Acadia Parish Clerk of Court Robbie Barousse swears in the people who will be running the town of Estherwood for the next four years. Those being sworn in are, from left, Police Chief Kevin LeBlanc, Alderwoman Donna Bertrand, Alderman Tim Savant, Mayor Anthony Borill and Alderman Don Popp. Following the ceremony family and friends of the new officials stayed to offer their congratulations and enjoy cold drinks, snacks and sandwiches. The ceremony and reception were held at Estherwood City Hall Tuesday evening. Estherwood town officials’ begin their terms of office on January 1, 2011.
