Norma Dill leads a group of ladies through an effective water workout three times per week. She and her husband, Gerald love to share fruit from the fruit orchard they have planted in their yard. With all this exercise, lovely Norma remains active and lively.

![]() Ken Bordelon of Vick started 2011 with this buck of a lifetime. Bordelon killed this giant deer the afternoon of Monday, January 3, 2011 on some land in the Louisiana Delta Plantation that he and his dad farm. The buck measured at 242 4/8" with 23 total points.

The Crowley Town Club’s Krewe de les Dames recently hosted a cocktail party to honor of the Court of 2010. A toast to the court, amusingly reflective of the 2010 “Cimmer is Dancing in the Street” Mardi Gras Ball, written by Ellen Dailey was made in honor of the following Court Members:

![]() ARNAUDVILLE - The Duhe Siblings of Reserve have always shared Christmas every year with their families and a December 24, 2010 gathering was held at the home and lovely farm of Deborah Duhe Pearce’s daughter and son-in-law, Lacey and Chip LaHaye. For Connie, Debbie and Doyle Duhe, the bonfire is a symbol of the miles of bonfires which were lit along the River Road during their childhood “to light the way for Santa’s arrival”. This tradition still exists along the levee of the River Parishes. ABBEY FEERICK is second in line of 3 generations of hairstylist. Her daughter, ASHLEY FEERICK has been a licensed hairstylist for one year, but “she started clocking in when she was 10 years old,” explained Abbey as she applied color to her daughter Ashley’s hair. Odelia Gonzales, Abbey’s mother has owned and operated her own Odelia’s Hair Salon for 42 years.

![]() 2010 Krewe of Town Revelers Mardi Gras Royalty, King Cimmer LV J. Elliot Dore and his Queen, Laurie Myers Suire marked the opening of this year’s Mardi Gras Season by hanging their official royal Mardi Gras flags. Similar flags, indicating past Kings and Queens of the Krewe of Town Revelers can be seen hanging throughout Crowley and Acadia Parish. The monarchs ruled over last year’s Mardi Gras Ball themed “Cimmer is Dancing in the Streets.”
This year’s Mardi Gras Ball will be held on Saturday, March 5 at the Rice Festival Building. Tickets will go on sale on January 27, 2011. Information may be obtained from members of the Crowley Town Club or by calling 783-1410.

![]() The first baby born in Acadia Parish in 2011 was Miguel Cortes who was delivered January 4 at American Legion Hospital. Miguel is the son of Marcial and Amalia Cortes of Duson. He came into the world weighing 6 pounds, 10 ounces. Dr. John Gonzales delivered the baby.
