With Mother’s Day right around the corner, the students at Ross Headstart performed their annual program to celebrate their mothers. This year’s theme was “Aloha to Moms” and the classes grouped up to sing five songs to their moms. “We Love Mothers” was sung by the combined classes of Room 11 (Laquanta Wilson/Jessica Meyers) and Room 14 (Nora Hebert/Laquinta Fontenot). Among those singing were, from left, Madison Lewis, Sa’Nhyga Allen, Jalasha Griffin, William Breaux, Meagan Norris, Cheyanna Jennings, Jaden Hebert, Makayla Hoffpauir, Alaziah Allen, Aaliyah Chargois and Dominick Hollier.

The Acadia Parish Food Service Association held its annual Easter egg hunt at Crowley’s Eighth Street Park midday Saturday. There were two separate hunts, one for children zero to five and the other for children ages six and up. Prizes were awarded for the most eggs and the golden egg in each division following the hunts. Participants included family and friends of the members of the association as well as those who happened to be at the park Saturday.

Chad Waligura received the Pathfinder award, one of the more prestigious awards a disabled hunter can receive. Presenting the award to Waligura, center, in Reno, NV is from left, Alex Oelofse, Thomas Ochsenbein and John Meehan. The three individuals were sponsors representing Oelofse Safaris, Highveld Taxidermy and Fauna and Flora, respectively.
