A man driving a Mitsubishi Raider lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a yard on Lovell St., ripping up a metal fence and knocking down a utility pole in the process. The driver suffered only minor injuries in the wreck and was charged with careless operation. Other charges may be pending.

The Crowley Garden Club presented the August Garden of the Month to Rick Istre. The house, located at 425 Pine St. in Crowley, hosts flowers and plants including azaleas, knockout roses, orchid bushes, African irises, Louisiana irises and camilias.
