Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Assumption Catholic Church in Mire, for Leroy Daigle, 88, who died Saturday February 12, 2011 at the Opelousas General Hospital.

The very Reverend Monsignor Russell Harrington will officiate.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands Norma Richard, Theresa and Wade Daigle, and Susie and Wayne Daigle all of Church Point; five sons and their wives Lee Voice and Brenda Daigle of Richard, Hubert and Geneva Daigle, Terry Daigle, Leroy and Judy Daigle Jr., and Jeffrey and Sandra Daigle all of Church Point;  Two brothers John and wife Helen Daigle, and Leander Daigle all of Church Point; one sister Viola Savoie of Church Point; twenty one grandchildren, and twenty one great-grandchildren. Mr. Daigle was preceded in death by his beloved wife and best friend of over 65 years, Iris Bergeron Daigle; one son Allen Daigle; a grandson Tommy Richard one granddaughter Angel Daigle; his parents Alus and Elena Carrier Daigle, two sisters Alida Comeaux, Leola LeDoux. Mr. Daigle will be remembered as being the family Chef and loved having all of his family and friends over for a hot  bowl of his famous Gumbo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday February 15, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at7:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until services.

Burial will be held in the Church of the Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Mire under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.
