Roberts Cove, LA. - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo IV Roman Catholic Church in Roberts Cove at 2:00 P.M. on Monday , December 17, 2012, for Margaret Leonards Olinger, 89, who died at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 13, 2012.

Rev. Paul Broussard will conduct the services with Rev. Mikel Polson and Rev. Kevin Bordelon concelebrating. Readers are Beverly Maloz a goddaughter and Sara Reynolds a granddaughter. Pallbearers include Mrs. Olinger's grandsons and honorary pallbearers are her goddaughters.

Interment will be in the St. Leo IV Catholic Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Olinger was born on July 15, 1923, the daughter of Charles and Walburga Thevis Leonards. She graduated from St. Michael High School in 1940. She was a charter member of the Court St. Leo Catholic Daughters of America, a lifetime member of St. Leo Altar Society, Roberts Cove Germanfest Association and Our Lady of the Oaks Rosary Group. She was also well known for her delicious potato salad, a favorite at family gatherings.

Survivors include six children, Charlene O. Reynolds and husband Michael, Gerard J. Olinger and wife Debbie, Dale E. Olinger, Susan M. Olinger, all of Roberts Cove; Laura O. Ledkins of Aurora, Colorado; John F. Olinger and wife Leslie of Crowley; ten grandchildren, Mark Olinger, Matthew Olinger and wife Lisa, Paul Olinger and wife Arisa, Lucy R. Philip and husband Vivek Philip, Mary Reynolds, Claire R. Hodges and husband Jesse Hodges, Daniel Reynolds, John Edward Reynolds, Sara Reynolds, Wynn Olinger, and one great-grandson, Nicholas Philip, and her sister, Agnes L. Habetz of Ragley, LA..

Mrs. Olinger was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Ambrose Olinger, her parents, Charles and Walburga T. Leonards; one siser, Josephine L. Ohlenforst; and one brother Gerhard Leonards; and son-in-law, Bill Ledkins.

The family would especially like to thank Dean Benoit and Joyce Pitre for the kindness and companionship they gave our mother for the past three years.

Friends will be received from 3:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Sunday, December 16, 2012 and from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the Funeral Mass Monday, December 17, 2012, at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., 504 N. Polk Street Rayne, LA. 70578.

A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. by the St. Leo Ladies Altar Society and 6:00 p.m. by the Court St. Leo Catholic Daughters.
