McNeese to host workshop titled “Competence in Cancer Care”

LAKE CHARLES – A workshop titled “Competence in Cancer Care” will be held from 7:45 a.m.-2:25 p.m. Aug. 2 in Stokes Auditorium of Hardtner Hall at McNeese State University.

Topics and speakers will include: “A Cancer Story” by Sherry L. Haley; “Countdown to Crisis” by Christy Mitchell; “It’s Not Easy Being Green” by Mildred “Millie” Toth; “One Small Step for Mouse, One Giant Leap for Man: Phase 1 Clinical Trials” by Amy Patel; and “The Dark Side of Informed Consent” by Tamara Barnes.

July 26 is the deadline to register and cost is $60 for registered nurses and $50 for LPNs who meet the deadline. There will be a $10 late registration fee and a $15 on-site registration fee.
