Funeral Services will be Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at 2:00 pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Norbert A. Thevis, 72, who passed away Friday, Aug. 20, 2010 at 11:40 pm at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.  Fr. Clint Trahan will be officiating the services and he will be assisted by Norbert’s nephew, Rev. Landy Mizell of Loxatchee, FL.

Survivors include his wife of forty six years, Betty Morgan Thevis of Crowley; two brothers, Raymond Thevis, Sr. of Rayne and Edward and wife Sally Thevis of Lafayette; one sister, Antonia T. Hoffpauir of Rayne; numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Norbert is preceded in death by his parents, Hubard and Maria Ohlenforst Thevis; one brother, Hebert “Jackie” Thevis; one nephew, Dwayne Thevis and one sister in law, Eunice Thevis; one brother in law, Lloyd L. Hoffpauir, Sr.

Visitation will be Monday, August 23, at 11:00 am till 9:00 pm then 8:00 am till time of services on Tuesday.  A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7:00 in the evening in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church #2 Cemetery in Rayne under the directions of Duhon Funeral Home, L.L.C. of Rayne.  Please send personal condolences to www.duhonfuneralhome.com.
