Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Earl J. Stakes 75, who died Sunday, October 10, 2010, at the South Wind Nursing Home. Survivors include two daughters Mary and her husband Jason Pastor of Crowley, and Lori Stakes and her companion Stephen Scott of Lyons Point; three sons David and his wife Cathy Stakes of Crowley, Darrel and his wife Pat Stakes of Abbeville, and Darren and his wife Jennifer Stakes of Estherwood, he is also survived by eight grandchildren Danielle and Brittany Pastor, Carl and Michael Broussard, Corey Stakes, Connor and Emma Stakes, Derrick Stakes, and two great grandchildren Jerret Broussard, and Braylen Stakes; one sister Charlotte S. Primeaux.

Mr. Earl was preceded in death by his wife Rose Stakes, his parents Earl and Edmonia Winn Stakes; three brothers, one sister, and two nephews.

Visitation was held Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. until services.

Burial was held in the Abshire Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.
