MIDLAND – Midland claimed a sweep of Pine Prairie Friday evening at the Rebels’ home gym.
The Lady Rebels got things going with a 61-33 victory over the Lady Panthers and the Rebels topped the Panthers 67-36 in the nightcap.
In the opening game, the Lady Rebels jumped out to a commanding 35-17 lead at the break and outscored the Lady Panthers 26-16 in the second half.
Bethany LeJeune paced the Lady Rebels with 12 points while Nicole Kraut and Kristen Breaux each pitched in 10. Katie Woods followed with nine points, Brooke Comeaux added eight, Melody Hebert had five, Macy Hoffpauir and Tori Craigen each had three and Elizabeth Istre scored one.
In the boys’ game, Jake Gautreaux poured in four 3-pointers and finished the night with 22 points. Darren Arceneaux and Devin Gautreaux followed with 14 and 10 points, respectively.
Also contributing in the victory were Alan Vondenstein with eight points, Randy Primeaux with seven, Stephen Primeaux with four and Nick Primeaux with two.
In other prep action, the Crowley Ladies cruised to a 55-24 victory over Mamou in a home contest.
The Ladies got 15 points each from Tiara Dugar and Mercedes Rogers to lead the charge. Ravin Ardoin was also a big contributor with 10 points while Akeela Dugar had eight.
Taylor Dapremont added three points while Chelsea Yokum and Nykelia Winters each scored two.
Also in Crowley, the Northside Christian Warriors pulled off a 44-37 victory over Vermilion Catholic Friday evening.
The Warriors jumped out to a 21-13 lead at the break and fended off a late VC rally to win the game.
Kade Miller torched the nets for 13 of his game-high 19 points in the first half to lead the Warriors.
Jacob Boudoin led the second half charge by scoring eight of his nine points in the final two frames.
Nathan Zelller added seven points in the victory while Tracy Wilridge scored five, Ty Wilson had three and Nicholas Martin had one.
Joey Faulk and Michael Campbell paced Vermilion Catholic with 16 and 9 points, respectively.
