Acadia Parish lands 10 team in playoffs

CROWLEY – Acadia Parish will be well represented when the 2012-13 prep basketball playoffs begin next week.

Six of the parish’s girls’ teams earned playoff berths while four boys’ teams advanced to postseason play.

On the girls’ side, the Rayne Lady Wolves earned the highest seed with a No. 3 ranking in Class 3A. The Notre Dame Lady Pios came in at No. 4.

Rayne will play host to No. 30 Richwood on Monday while the Lady Pios will entertain No. 29 Bogalusa.

Also in Class 3A, the Church Point Lady Bears earned the No. 23 seed and will travel to No. 10 Caldwell Parish.

Northside Christian’s Lady Warriors grabbed the No. 16 spot in Class C and will play host to No. 17 New Living World.

The Midland Lady Rebels are the No. 20 seed in Class B and will travel to No. 13 Holden.

Midland gained the highest seed  for an Acadia Parish team with a No. 6 ranking on the boys’ side.

The Rebels will play host to No. 27 Holden on Tuesday.

Northside Christian and Rayne will also be at home in the first round in their respective classes. The Warriors are the No. 12 seed in Class C and will play host to No. 21 Dubach while the Wolves, No. 13 in Class 3A, will entertain No. 20 Donaldsonville.

Crowley also earned a berth in the Class 3A playoffs with the No. 27 seed. The Gents will travel to No. 6 Caldwell Parish for their first-round game.
