CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held Tuesday August 31, 2010 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley for Adula Richard Smith, 88, who died Sunday August 29, 2010 at the Southwind Nursing Home.

Survivors include one daughter Mae Rose Begnaud of Crowley; two sons and their wives Alfred and Vida Simoneaux and Tilford and Carol Simoneaux both of Crowley; one sister Merdie R. Abshire of Kaplan; one brother Ovey Richard of Crowley; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three step great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express a special thanks to Mrs. Smith’s niece and care givear Judy LeBeouf.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Melvin Simoneaux; her second husband Oren L. Smith; her parents, Arte and Desiria Landry Richard; two brothers Adres and Oday Richard; and one sister Myrta R. Lebeouf.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Joshua Simoneaux, Chuck Hammock, Brett Hoffpauir, Eric Vincent, and Darrell Abshire; honorary pallbearers will be Ray Allen Richard, and Robert Vincent

Visitation was held Monday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume Tuesday from 8 a.m. until services.

Burial will be held in the Abshire cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley.
