During the June 24-26 weekend of action, Rayne was the site for a boys’ tournament where local all-stars placed well.
In pinto league action the Rayne Americans took top honors defeating four teams, including the Opelousas Lil Cajuns in the finals. Their district tournament will be held July 8-10 in Eunice.
The Rayne Bullfrogs of mustang league came up just short with a second place finish. Their only loss came to Church Point in the finals. Their district tournament will be held July 7-10 in Welsh.
The Rayne Bronco All-stars finished 2-2 last weekend. They will travel to Loreauville the weekend of July 9-10 for their district tournament.
The Rayne Pony All-Stars placed third last weekend in Rayne. They went 2-0 in pool play before defeating New Iberia in the tournament bracket and losing to Crowley. The locals will host the Pony District Tournament the weekend of July 14-17 at Gossen Memorial Park.
In girls’ action, all all-star teams participated in a Crowley Kiwanis Tournament with a number of local teams placing well.
The Rayne Pinto All-Stars came up just one run short for a second place finish among 11 teams. They loss in the finals 9-8 to Ville Platte.
The Rayne Mustang All-Stars also placed second in the Crowley Tournament, while the Rayne Bronco All-Stars finished 3-2-1 in pool and bracket play.
All girl teams will participate in the Regional Tournament slated July 8-10 in Crowley.
