The bride is the daughter of Susan Williamson Ray of Jennings and Richard W. Hensgens of Lake Arthur. She is the granddaughter of Cora LeDoux Williamson and the late Coolidge Williamson of Eunice, and the late Nicholas L. and Doris Landry Hensgens of Crowley.
Alyson is a graduate of St. Edmund High School in Eunice, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in mass communications, with a concentration in Public Relations, from McNeese State University in Lake Charles.
The groom is the son of John B. “Barney” and Deanie Belaire Stewart of Rayne. He is the grandson of the late Clevence and Sylvia Belaire of Loreauville, and Milton and Freida Breaux Stewart of Lake Charles.
Steven is a graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley, and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
On the arm of her father, the bride wore an elegant, strapless, mermaid-style wedding gown completely overlaid in antique ivory lace. The silhouette featured a soft sweetheart neckline and ruching at the bodice where floral fabric details were noted. The bride wore a double-layered, fingertip veil of sheer illusion edged with an ivory satin ribbon, while carrying a bouquet of hand-sewn flowers constructed of vintage linens in shades of ivory. An heirloom linen and lace handkerchief, once belonging to her late grandmother, was tucked into the creation.
Claire Frederick served as maid of honor and Brooke Howard was matron of honor, friends of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Caroline Stewart, Lauren Fontenot, Juliee Feucht, Kayla Anderson, Mandy LeJeune and Kaydee’ Jo Hensgens.
Serving as flower girls were Caroline Hensgens, niece of the bride, and Gretchen Guinn, godchild of the bride. Their escort was ring bearer Andrew Fontenot, Jr.
Joshua Istre, friend of the groom, served as best man.
Groomsmen were Andrew McFarlain, Luke Hensgens, Kevin Jones, Travis Webb, Adam Regan, Patrick Arnold, Paige Hodges and Jake Borill.
Ryan Miller, Jake Fontenot, David Berken and Matt Vonderstein served as ushers.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, family and guests were invited to join the couple during a reception held at the Grand Opera House of the South in Crowley.
Guests attended from Rayne, Eunice, Lafayette, Baton Rouge, Houston and Memphis.
Following a honeymoon trip to the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Maui, the newlyweds will reside in Lafayette.
