MIRE –– Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013, at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Mire for Ancy M. Broussard, 64, who passed away on Saturday, February 2, 2013, at the Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.

Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc, was celebrant of the Mass and conducted the funeral services.

Burial took place in Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church Cemetery in Mire.

Ms. Broussard, a resident of Rayne, was the daughter of the late Norbert Meche and the former Clementine Richard.

She is survived by her three sons, Lucus Broussard and wife, Casey, of Kaplan, Troy Broussard and his fiancée, Amy Rogers, of Abbeville and Ravis Broussard of Kaplan; two granddaughters, Carlie and Cali Broussard; three sisters, Laurence Constantine of Lafayette, Mary Sonnier of Duson, and Gerlis Pellerin of Rayne; one brother, Levrol Meche and wife, Anna Bell, of Mire.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Gladys Venable and Rose Belle Meche; and three brothers, Roosevelt, Ewell and Emar Meche.

The family requested visiting hours be observed at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne on Monday, February 4, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m.

A rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening in the funeral home. Visitation continued on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
