Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM in the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Andrus Paul Simon, 77, who passed away on January 4, 2013 at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Kendall Faulk, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. 
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery # 2 in Rayne.
Mr. Simon was a resident of Rayne and was the son of the late Andrew Simon and the former Idonia Leger. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and served his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Velma Breaux Simon; one daughter, Laura Simon Hebert; one son, Lester Paul Simon and wife Amy Domingue Simon; three sisters, Veda Simon and husband John, Lydia Pellissier and husband Adam and Leona Pellissier and husband Francis; seven grandchildren, Andree Simon, Amber Simon, Autumn Navarre, Blair Simon, Sydney Simon, Derek Simon and Garrett Richard; one great-granddaughter, Mia Meche; two god children, Denise Pellissier and Timmy Simon; his godmother, Mertie Melancon and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Agnes Simon, Bernice Simon, Bulah Simon and Evelyn Trahan; two brothers, Whitney and Sidney Simon and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Eli and Claudia Breaux. 
The family is requesting visiting hours to be held on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm Sunday evening in the funeral home. Visitation will continue on Monday at 8:00 am until the time of service.
