Funeral Services will be Monday, August 6, 2012 at 1:00 PM at The Assumption Church in Mire, La. for Barbara M. Gaspard, 81, who passed away Thursday, August 2, 2012 at 10:25 PM at the Crowley Rehab Hospital in Crowley, La.  Officiating the services will be Fr. Mike

Survivors include two daughters, Dianne and husband, John LeBlanc of Mire, La. and Donna and husband, Mark Dugas of Rayne; five grandchildren, Rochelle Rene’ Chatman, Donald Ray LeBlanc, Kelly John Dugas, Kristen Ann Dugas and Zachary  Quinn Dugas; eight great-grandchildren, Cade Michael Hirstius, Tyler James Hirstius, Harrison Keller Becnel, Anthony John Dugas, Bailey Robert Dugas, Ashton Lane Dugas, Ian Cole Aubrey and Owen Joshua Aubrey.

Ms. Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband, Aristide “Pete” Cahanin; her second husband, Howard Gaspard; her parents, Adolph and Armine Matte; three infant children; one grandson, Joshua Kyle LeBlanc; two brothers, Vinest Matte and Wallace Matte; three sisters, Laura Miller, Hazel Leon, Dean Belaire.

Visitation will be Sunday 9:00 AM until 10:00 PM then 8:00 AM on Monday until time of services.  The St. Joseph Catholic Daughters will recite a Rosary Sunday at 7:15 PM in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in The Assumption Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home, LLC of Rayne.  Please send personal condolences to the family at http://www.duhonfuneralhome.com/
