As announced by Rayne Recreation Director Randy Guidry, registration for the 2012 baseball/softball summer league is taking place for the upcoming season.

The program is open to boys and girls ages 5-14 years of age with the following registration dates set at the Green Room:

Feb. 11 and 18 (9-10 a.m.) and Feb. 9, 14, 16 and 23 (5-6 p.m.).

Release forms must be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to the Rayne Recreayion Department or Rayne City Hall, along with registration fee on or before deadline. Registration fee is $20 per participant. All participants must be registered by March 6th. No registration will be accepted after deadline.

Tryout dates and times include:

Boy’s Pinto (7-8 years) on March 10 at 9 a.m. at Gossen Park.

Girl’s Pinto (7-8 years) on March 10 at 10 a.m. at Gossen Park.

Girl’s Mustang Fastpitch (9-10 years) on March 10 at 11 a.m. at Gossen Park.

Boy’s Mustang (9-10 years) on March 10 at 12 noon at Gossen Park.

Boy’s Bronco (11-12 years) on March 10 at 1 p.m. at Gossen Park.

Girl’s Bronco Fastpitch (11-12 years) on March 10 at 2 p.m. at Gossen Park.

Boy’s/Girl’s Pony (13-14 years) no tryouts required.

Girl’s Shetland (5-6 years) on March 24 at 9 a.m. at Mauboules Park.

Boy’s Shetland (5-6 years) on March 24 at 10 a.m. at Mauboules Park.

Volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and umpires are needed for the program. Please volunteer your time for the children.
