Body dumped in Richard area has been identified

ACADIA PARISH – Authorities in Acadia Parish are investigating the death of Andres Miguel Manuel, age 24, of Mermentau, La. after a passing motorist discovered his body around 4:50 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2012 on White Oak Hwy north of LA 365 near the Richard community.

 According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, 911 dispatchers received a call from a female that reported the discovery while traveling on the roadway. 

 Upon arrival deputies discovered Manuel wrapped in a tarp laying in the middle of the roadway.  According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, with the assistance of the Henderson Police Department, they were able to identify the victim who had no identification on him. The Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office and Acadia Parish Coroner’s Office also assisted with identification.

The victim’s body has been turned over to the Calcasieu Parish Coroner’s Office to determine cause of death.
