Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, for Brenda Ann Jolivette, 55, who died on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at her home in Rayne.
The service will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. Father Richard Wagner, S.S.J., will officiate.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2012, at The Mural Room from 5:00-10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.
Brenda was born on January 21, 1957, to the late Gracie J. Mouton and James Harmon, Sr. She was a Class of 1975 graduate of Rayne High School. She attended the technical school in Crowley where she obtained certification as a Clerk-Typist. She was employed by the Acadia Parish School Board, retiring after 25 years.
She was a faithful member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. Brenda did not have any children of her own, but she served as a mother figure to all of her nieces and nephews. She was affectionately known as “lil’ Bren” or “Bren Cat” to her friends and family.
She is survived by her lifelong friend, Terry Nickson of Rayne, LA; four sisters, Maureen JoIivette-Roberts, Elizabeth Ann Jolivette and Elaine Carter, all of Rayne; and Cynthia Harmon of Natchitoches, LA; three brothers, Clinton J. Mouton of Aliso Viejo, CA, Bradford J. Harmon of Rayne; and James (Lucille) Harmon, Sr. of Crowley, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great-nephews, godchildren, family and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her mother, Gracie Jolivette-Mouton; her father, James Harmon, Sr.; her brothers, Leroy Mouton, Percy Harmon and Warren Scott; and her sisters, Alice Broussard, Rita Mae Mouton and Theresa Harmon.
Pallbearers will be Raymond McDowell, Kenneth Mouton, Reginald Mouton, Carlton Milstead Byron Sias. and Johnathan Willis.
