The Crowley Police Department has been hard at work removing various narcotics from the city’s streets. According to Crowley Chief of Police K.P. Gibson the number of narcotics related arrests has increased drastically.

“Our officer’s continue to remain busy on the war against illegal narcotics,” said Chief K.P. Gibson.

“The month of September was one of the busiest months involving narcotic cases cleared and October was not far behind it,” added Chief Gibson. “If our officer’s keep up at this pace, we are on schedule to see a 34 percent increase in the amount of cases cleared this year compared to last year. That is a scary increase. Imagine the cases that have not been cleared”.

During the month of October, 28 arrests have been made for a variety of narcotics violation. The following have been arrested and charged on narcotics violation:

- Shelby Monceaux, 28, Crowley, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia.

- Kristy Mathews, 28, Crowley, PWITD hydrocodone.

- Aaron Doucet, 19, Crowley, possession of schedule IV narcotics.

- Johnava Bellard, 28, Crowley, distribution of hydrocodone.

- James Jones, Jr, 27, Crowley, possession of marijuana.

- Malcolm Thomas, 24, Crowley, possession of marijuana.

- Brandi Wells, 24, Crowley, PWITD xanax, possession of oxycodone.
