Cajuns take on Ohio in non-conference tilt

LAFAYETTE - Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns take a break from Sun Belt Conference play this weekend as they travel to Athens for the second time this season. This time, the Cajuns travel to Athens, Ohio to take on the Ohio Bobcats of the Mid-American Conference.

Kick-off between the Cajuns (2-5) and Bobcats (5-3) is set for 1:00 p.m. CT at Peden Stadium.

Also, the Cajuns learned today that a kick-off time of 6:00 p.m. has been set for their November 6 contest at Mississippi. That game will be televised on ESPNU.

All-purpose quarterback Brad McGuire scored two rushing touchdowns against WKU, giving him four scores in just two games this season.

UL's passing game also saw the emergence of senior wide receiver Vernon Wolfe, who earned his first career start against the Hilltoppers. Wolfe had four receptions for 94 yards, including a long of 42 yards. Last season, Wolfe made just eight catches for 71 yards with a long of 17 yards.

Ohio (5-3) enters Saturday's game after a 34-13 win over Miami (OH) last weekend. The Bobcats have won four straight games and haven't loss since a 24-23 defeat at Marshall on September 25.

The two teams last played in 2007 at Cajun Field when UL led 20-10 at halftime, but fell by a final score of 31-23.

The Cajuns are 4-5 all-time against the Mid-American Conference with the last game occurring in 2008 when UL defeated Kent State by a 44-27 final score.
