Gene Pete led the Yellow Jackets (2-6, 1-2) with four touchdowns rushing and finished with 180 yard rushing on 14 carries.
He also completed 9-of-14 passes for 130 yards on the night.
Iowa scored first on a 47-yard run by Pete and Matt Guidry’s kick pushed them ahead 7-0 with 11:37 left in the opening period.
Iowa forged ahead 10-0 when Guidry nailed a 40-yard field goal with 6:54 remaining in the period.
Church Point closed the gap to 10-7 when Von Duplechain scored on a 45-yard run with 1:35 left in the first quarter.
The PAT by Brock Latiolais kick was good.
The Yellow Jackets increased their lead to 17-7 when Pete raced 67 yards for a score and Guidry’s kick was good with 10:43 left before halftime.
Guidry boomed a 43-yard field goal with three seconds left as the Yellow Jackets led 20-7 at intermission.
The Bears closed the gap to 20-14 when Duplechain scored on an eight-yard run with 8:48 left in the third period.
The PAT by Latiolais kick was good.
Pete scored again on a 27-yard run and Guidry’s kick was good as the Yellow Jackets went ahead 27-14 with 5:32 remaining in the third quarter.
Pete pushed in his fourth score of the night on an 11-yard run with 1:40 left in the quarter.
Trailing 33-14, Church Point’s Tyler Clavier scored on a 25-yard run with 7:07 left and Latiolais’ PAT closed the gap to 33-21.
The Yellow Jackets closed the scoring when Dylan Williams ran in from 15-yards out with 4:56 left in the game.
Guidry’s kick made the final margin 40-21.
Church Point’s Clavier finished with 97 yards on 10 carries, while Duplechain finished with 16 carries for 94 yards.
Jacob Boone added 51 yards on seven carries for the Bears.
Church Point’s Ty Leger was 10-of-27 for 99 yards with an interception.
Desmond Bellard was the top receiver with four catches for 60 yards.
Duplechian had three catches for 23 yards.
Church Point (4-4, 1-2) visits Westlake (3-5, 3-0) this week.
