On Sunday, June 5, Rayne Police responded to an anonymous caller who reported Mardy Lyons was growing marijuana at his residence at 416 Ann Drive, Rayne.  Officers investigated and confirmed Lyons was cultivating marijuana in his backyard garden.

Rayne Police officers arrested Lyons, 53, for cultivation of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Chief Stelly added officers also located an additional 30 grams of marijuana, scales, and other paraphernalia when they searched inside the residence.

Chief Stelly said, “This goes to show you that drugs affect every age and economic class.”

Mardy Lyons was processed into the Acadia Parish Jail where he was later released on bond.
