Survivors include three daughters, Diana St. Germain and her fiancée’ Steven Meaux of Rayne, Rebecca and her husband Frank Meche of Mire, and Loretta Cormier of Crowley; three sons Dupreville and his wife Jeanne Cormier of Rayne, Johnny and his wife Patricia Cormier of Crowley, and Lawrence “Killer“Cormier of Crowley; two brothers and their wives Eric and Rita Cormier and Stafford and Emma Cormier all of Rayne; fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Mr. Cormier was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Richard Cormier, one daughter Mami Cormier; Sister Joyce C. Bourque; brothers Linick, and Paul Cormier, his parents Gladue and Ophelia Cormier, and two grandsons.
Mr. Cormier was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, he was employed by Privat Lumber co., Celeron, I.P. Petroleum and Claude Watkins Farm in Welsh for 11 years, he loved watching the Atlanta Braves, listening to French music, working in his garden, and most of all playing with his children and grandchildren and playing his accordion.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until services.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
