The bride is the daughter of Jim and Cindy Orillion of Rayne. Her grandparents are Flo Thibodeaux of Opelousas and the late A.C. Thibodeaux, and the late Jimmy and Olympe Orillion of Rayne. She is a 2005 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish, 2010 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and serves as the children’s choir director at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne.
The groom is the son of Blaise and Cherie LeCompte of Houma. His grandparents are Elizabeth and the late Robert Boudreaux of Houma, and Odis and Janice LeCompte of Chauvin. He is a 2005 graduate of Immaculate Conception Apostolic School in Center Harbor, N.H., a 2010 graduate of The University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and is general manager/owner of www.acadianaeats.com.
Providing musical selections for the ceremony were Jamie and Casey Orillion, brothers of the bride; Jason Romero, brother-in-law of the bride; and members of the St. Joseph Church Children’s Choir.
Ushering guests to their appropriate pews was Matt LeCompte, brother of the groom.
Scriptures were recited by Celeste Patroni and Sheila Boyne. Gifts were offered by the Lirette family including John, Sarah, Timothy, Joseph, Jaime and Alexander.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore an exquisite gown of lace and silk organza and satin. The strapless bodice was crowned with a scalloped neckline radiantly ornamented with intricate pearls and lace, which also flowed into a full skirt and Tiffany train. She wore a simple headpiece which held a cathedral-length veil of silk tulle, while carrying a hand-tied bouquet of yellow daisies, roses and green orchids.
Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her grandmother’s wedding ring as something old, her wedding gown and veil as something new, a friend’s handkerchief as something borrowed, and her shoes as something blue.
Attending her sister as maid of honor was Caroline Orillion. Matron of honor was her sister-in-law, Rebecca Orillion. Bridesmaids were Lauren Daniels, friend of the couple; Candace Rutherford and Katie Fasnacht, friends of the bride; and Lexie Thibodeaux, cousin of the bride.
Bridal attendants each wore a printed charmeuse of clover and ivory featuring an empire waist and gatherings at the skirt and bodice front. Each carried a nosegay of yellow daisies, lilies, roses and miniature orchids.
Serving as flower girl was Taris Blackwell, the groom’s godchild. She wore a ball gown of ivory satin created with a beaded bodice, empire waist and spaghetti straps.
Attending his brother as best man was Saul LeCompte. Groomsmen were John, Brenner, Rusty and Jess LeCompte, brothers of the groom, and James Hernandez, friend of the groom. Ring bearer was Ashton Parker Orillion, bride’s nephew/godchild.
Male attendants each wore a formal, black, full-tailed tuxedo with grey vest and tie. The lapel was noted with a delicate yellow orchid boutonniere.
For her daughter’s wedding, the mother of the bride wore an elegant ivory top of satin shutter pearls which flowed over the shoulder to create cap sleeves, which the right shoulder featuring a satin rose. A black, chiffon, full-length skirt completed the ensemble. Her pearl earrings were a gift from the bride from the bride’s hand-made, “One of a Kind” jewelry collection.
The groom’s mother selected an elegant, black, sleeveless, knee-length dress featuring a lace-fashioned jewel neckline. The chic design was topped with an ivory, silk cardigan. An exquisite jewelled bracelet was a gift from the bride’s jewelry collection.
Immediately following the wedding ceremony, the newlyweds were honored during a reception held at The Crowne Plaza in Lafayette.
Among the refreshments provided for the guests was the bride’s cake, a buttercream confection adorned with yellow and white daisies and yellow and peach roses. The cake was served by Jean Provost and Jane Baker, aunts of the bride.
Guests attended the wedding from numerous points of the Acadiana area, in addition to Baton Rouge, Chauvin, Houma, Lake Charles, Metarie, Thibodaux, Shreveport, Florida and California.
Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple is now residing in Pleasantville, N.Y.
Prior to the wedding, a rehearsal dinner was held Friday, July 9, at Don’s Seafood Restaurant in Lafayette. The 7 p.m. social was hosted by the groom’s parents and guests were treated to their choice of menu items and beverages.
