OPELOUSAS – Investigation continues into a fatal Saturday night motorcycle crash.

State Police said Edward Lanclos, 69, of Opelousas was driving a 2006 Honda Gold Wing Trike west on LA Highway 104 approaching Frank Road.

For reasons still under investigation, Lanclos crossed the center line and traveled off the left side of the road.

The bike struck a ditch embankment which caused Lanclos to be ejected from his vehicle. Lanclos, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead by the St. Landry Parish Coroner.

It is unknown if impairment was a factor in this crash; however, routine toxicology samples have been obtained and will submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
