Sometimes it just takes time to solve a crime, but with modern technology the time is well worth the wait, remarks Crowley Police Chief K.P Gibson, as he announced the arrest of a carjacking suspect last week.

Crowley Police arrested a Crowley man for an October 17, 2009 carjacking incident which occurred in the 300 block of West 2nd.

“Our officers investigated the scene of the carjacking, including the recovery of the vehicle. During their investigation, DNA evidence was obtained. This evidence was forwarded to the Crime Lab for comparison” sadi Chief Gibson.

Gibson said during the last few weeks, his office received information from the Crime Lab indicating a match on the DNA from this investigation.

Crowley Police have charged Billy Robinson, Jr., 18, of Crowley for carjacking. Warrants were issued for the arrest of Robinson and he was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
