According to State Police Rita Soileau, 62, was driving south on U.S. Hwy. 167 when struck by a car going north in the southbound lane.
The car head Soileau’s SUV just north to the La. Hwy. 749 intersection.
Soileau was killed. Alec Oliver, 20, of Port Barre, driver of the other vehicle is in critical condition.
Troopers said he is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
