RICHMOND, Texas – Funeral services for Dan Wilbern Schlicher Sr., 87, of Houston, will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Calvary Episcopal Church, located at 806 Thompson Road in Richmond, Texas with Rev. Neil F. Scotty Innes officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.

Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013 in the State Room of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg.

Dan was born May 14, 1925 in Crowley to Robert Edward Schlicher and Daisey Weekley Schlicher. He served our country proudly in the U. S. Army during WWII. He also served as the Executive V.P. and CEO of the American Rice Growers, the Needville Rice Dryer, the Richmond Rice Growers and the Richmond Irrigation Company. He was a member of Calvary Episcopal Church in Richmond. Dan passed away Jan. 28, 2013 in Houston.

Dan is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Schlicher; parents, Robert and Daisey Schlicher; brother, Robert E. Schlicher Sr.; and sister, Pam Frey.

He is survived by his children, Dan W. Schlicher Jr., Susan Schlicher Neumann and husband, Kenneth, Craig Schlicher and wife, Cecilia, and Russ Schlicher; grandchildren, Stacey Vu, Christie Maycock, Kelli Schlicher, and LeeAnn Schlicher; great-grandchildren, Evelyn Vu, John Robinson Vu, Violet Vu and Charlotte Maycock; and special friend of the family, Barbara Jordan, along with other relatives and many friends.
