Darrell and Lisa S. Soileaux of Rayne were honored on Saturday, Aug. 16, during an evening reception held at Chef Roy’s Frog City Café in observance of their 25th wedding anniversary.
The couple was married on Aug. 12, 1983, during an evening ceremony held at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Rayne with Fr. Benoit Drapeau officiating.
Mrs. Soileaux is the former Lisa Ann Smith, daughter of Lorraine and Bob Myers and Jimmy and Peggy Smith of Rayne. Her grandparents are Lawrence J. Smith of Rayne and the late Bernice C. Smith, and the late Ernie and Beatrice LeBlanc of Crowley.
Mr. Soileaux is the son of Marilyn V. Soileaux and the late Elton Soileaux of Rayne. His grandparents are the late Henry Soileaux and Angelle S. Morvant of Duson, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Viator of Lafayette.
They are the parents of one daughter, Sr. Marie Labouré Soileaux, O.P., the former Leslee Ann Soileaux. She is a Dominican Sister of St. Cecilia Congregation in Nashville, a teaching order.
Hosting the anniversary reception were Mark and Gwen Monceaux, Mr. Soileaux’s sister and brother-in-law, along with his mother, Marilyn Soileaux.
For the special event, Mrs. Soileaux wore a black and brown three-piece ensemble, noted with her wedding day pearl necklace and earrings. She was presented a mini-calla lily corsage.
Mr. Soileaux was attired in a brown and tan attire, noted with a mini-calla lily boutonniere.
The reception hall was decorated with a silver and white color theme, along with crystal and silver vases, candlesticks and religious accents throughout.
A special accent noted at the guest registry table was her late grandmother’s candelabra, the same used on their wedding day 25 years ago.
The gift and memoribilia table was topped with a special floral bouquet, a gift from Mr. Soileaux and their daughter to Mrs. Soileaux. The bouquet was surrounded by anniversary gifts and family pictures from the past 25 years.
In addition to the couple’s parents, a special guest in attendance was Mrs. Soileaux’s grandfather, Lawrence J. Smith of Rayne.
The cake table held a two-layered white anniversary confection accentuated with white accents and flowers, along with silver leaves and a “25” topper. The confection was flanked on each side with white floral bouquets and crystal candlesticks, centered with a special silver cross in remembrance of Mr. Soileaux’s father, the late Elton Soileaux.
Approximately 50 family members and guests were in attendance from Rayne, Crowley, Mire, Church Point, Grand Coteau, Scott and Baton Rouge.
Guests were served their choice of ribeye steak or seafood entrees, along with appetizers, dessert and beverages.
