Surviving is his wife of 59 years, Elsie Jane Boudreaux Besse, of Rayne, son, Dave Albert Besse and wife Suzanne of Baton Rouge, son, Daniel Lee Besse and wife Madeline of Rayne, daughter, Susan Elizabeth Besse of Rayne, son, Kenneth Charles Besse and wife Cricket of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, daughter, Christine Marie Besse of Lafayette, son, Kevin Troy Besse of Rayne, daughter, Mary Patricia Guidry of Lafayette, daughter, Angela Louise Huckaby and husband William of Eunice, daughter, Rebecca Jane Gogola and husband Michael of Youngsville, Twenty-two grandchildren, Fourteen great grandchildren, brother, Dan Besse and wife Phyllis of Rayne, brother, Michael Besse and Wife Mona of Rayne, brother, Pierre Besse and wife Vickie of Rayne, brother, Elliott Besse of Youngsville, brother, Rene' Besse and wife Daisy of Pennsylvania, sister, Heloise Besse Sullivan and husband Jeff of Goshen, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by son, Raymond Louis Besse; one grandson, Ian Christopher Besse.
He was born Sunday, October 26, 1930 in Atlanta, GA, Son of the late Dave Albert Besse, Sr. and the late Yolande Daboval Besse.
He was a Long time member of the YMBC in Rayne, former Scott Master of Boy Scouts of America, retired member of LA Floodplain Management.
He worked for the City of Rayne as an Inspector .
Friends will be received Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until service at the at the Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne, LA.
