HOUMA - Funeral services for David L. “Brother Dave” Lecklet, 72, will be held at 11 a.m. at the Christian Baptist Church in Houma on Friday, September 24, 2010. Following the service, Lecklet will be laid to rest at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. He died on Sunday, September 19. The family has asked visitation be held at the Falgout Chapel Thursday, September 23 from 5-9 p.m. and Friday, September 24 from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Lecklet was a parishioner of Christian Baptist Church and a member of BPOE Lodge 1193 of Houma.

He is survived by his wife, Susan D. Scheffler Lecklet; three sons, Kent and his wife Kelly of Jacksonville, Keith and his wife Aimee Lecklet of Houma and Christopher Blanchard; five daughters, Charlotte Elsey and husband Bill Aberdeen of Scotland; Gaynelle McKemie, Danielle Breaux, Jennifer Smith and Amy White; many grandchildren, Holly and husband Jason Chuter of LaPlace; Rachel Milne and husband Neal Aberdeen of Scotland, Kelly and Robbie Wood of Scotland; Brennan and Austin White, Connor Smith, Jenna Labat, Amber Whittaker, Brayden Blanchard and Gabrielle McKemie; and several great grandchildren, Kailyn, Alexis, Aaron, Austin and Elijah Chuter, Caden Lecklet and Jack Wood.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Gertie Taylor Lecklet; one son, Kevin Lecklet; one brother, Ronald Lecklet; and one great granddaughter, Amy Lecklet.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Falgout Funeral Home, Inc. in Houma.
