Picadilly exec

BATON ROUGE -- Services will be Saturday for former Picadilly Cafeterias CFO David Garrett. He died Feb. 19 at age 79.

Garrett, the second person in Louisiana to hold a law degree in conjunction with a CPA certificate, was general counsel and CFO of Picadilly Cafeterias for 15 years.

He was founder and CEO of Carousel Cafeterias for 11 years. He was a member of the board of ITI Technical College until 2010.

Survivors include four children.

Arrangements are by Resthaven.



Former mayor


LUTCHER -- Services will be Friday for former mayor Guy Poche. He died Feb. 21 at age 78.

Poche was mayor for eight years and on the district board of the Louisiana Municipal Association.

Survivors include his wife Doris, four sons and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Rose Lynn.



Trade expert


BATON ROUGE -- Services will be Saturday for trade expert Max Turnipseed. He died Feb. 21 at age 74.

He was former associate director of government relations for Ethyl Corp./Albemarle.

He was an international trade specialist and represented the chemical industry in NAFTA rules development, bilateral trade agreement negotiations and GATT and World Trade Organization discussions.

Turnipseed represented Louisiana in antidumping cases against frozen crawfish from China .

Survivors include his wife Carrine, a son and a daughter.
