MONROE -- Services are pending for civil rights attorney Paul Kidd, Sr. He died April 18 at age 75.
Kidd represented plaintiffs in suits forcing desegregation in more than 20 parishes in the late 1960s and 1970s.
Survivors include a son.
LSU Professor, poet
BATON ROUGE – Services are pending for Jeanne Leiby, professor, writer, poet and editor of LSU’s literary magazine. She was killed in an accident near Raman on I-10 on April 19.
She won several national poetry awards and had edited LSU’s acclaimed The Southern Review since 2008.
