LAKE CHARLES – Services will be Friday for long-time Baptist minister the Rev. Emmit Wren. He died May 20 at age 86.
He was ordained at St. Landry Baptist Church and was a minister for more than 50 years, pastoring churches in Pine Prairie, Branch, Gray and Lake Charles, among others.
Survivors include two sons and two daughters.
Arrangements are by Johnson.
LSU professor, stream expert
BATON ROUGE – Services for LSU professor emeritus in the Department of Biology Dr. John Fitzsimons will be Saturday. He died May 20.
He was also curator emeritus in the LSU Museum of Natural Science and a Fellow of the Bishop Museum of Honolulu and the U.S. Antarctic Research Program. He was a recognized expert in stream ecology and restoration.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte and two daughters.
Leading physical therapist
RIVER RIDGE – Services will be Friday for nationally recognized physical therapist Paul O’Connor. He died May 17 at age 86.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and part of the Salk Vaccine Polio Team. He helped write the original Medicare regulations while working in Washington, D.C. He was co-founder of Gulf South Home Health and Rehabilitation and was a commissioned commander in the U.S. Public Health Service.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth and three daughters.
