Oil Field entrepreneur

 LAFAYETTE – Services will be Friday for geologist and oil field services entrepreneur Edmund Baudoin, Sr. He died June 5 at age 87. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Pacific Theater, World War II, including invasions of Saipan and Tinian. Companies he founded revolutionized the pipe inspection business. He started a number of firms, retiring from Technical Industries Inc. Survivors include his wife Margaret, a son and a daughter. Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

 Food service exec

 NEW IBERIA – Services will be Saturday for wholesale food distributor and civic leader Paul Doerle, Sr. He died June 5 at ae 87. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who founded his business in 1950 operating from the back of a pick-up truck. The multi-million dollar company currently operates out of four facilities with more than 400 employees. Doerle was a 10-year director on the national food distributors organization’s board. He created several other companies and was on the board of People’s National Bank, now Regions Bank, for many years. Survivors include his wife Gertrude, two sons and two daughters. Arrangements are by Pellerin.

Record shop owner

 BATON ROUGE – Services will be Saturday for record shop owner Herman Bowie. He died May 31 at age 68, He was the 37-year owner of Bowie’s Record Shop, a Scotlandville community institution. Survivors include his wife Lucille, three sons and a daughter. Arrangements are by Southern.

Long-time pedicatrician

BATON ROUGE – Services for pediatrician Dr. Thomas Heflin will be Thursday. He died June 4 at age 72. He practiced at Pediatric Medical Center until that clinic was sold to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife Susan, three children and two step-children. Arrangements are by Rabenhorst.
