Interior designer, contractor

SHREVEPORT – Services for noted interior designer and contractor Harrel Mulkey, Jr. are Wednesday. He died July 23 at age 86.

He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II’s Pacific Theater. He was president of Friend, Piper & Mulker and designed and built many of Shreveport’s finest homes. He was co-owner of The London Gallery, Antiques.

Survivors include a son.

Pastor, teacher, public official

MONROE _ Services were Tuesday for Baptist minister and teacher and former police juror the Rev. Andrew Mansfield. He died at age 81.

He was former pastor at First Baptist Church, Rayville, and served as pastor of churches in Dodson and Downsville. He was for 12 years dean of the La. Congress of Christian Education and for 20 years moderator of the 10th District Baptist Association. He was a former teacher at Grambling State, was mayor of the City of Grambling and was a Lincoln Parish police juror for 20 years.

Survivors include his wife Mae and five daughters.

Arrangements were by Mulhearn.
