Florist industry leader

LAFAYETTE – Services for florist Glenn Hollier will be Saturday. He died Sept. 10 at age 85.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and for many years was owner of Les Amis Florist and Gifts. He was active in a number of floral industry organizations, including FTD and Louisiana Wholesale Florists.

Survivors include his wife Betty, three daughters and two step-children.

Arrangements are by Martin & Castille.

KC leader

BATON ROUGE – Services for Knights of Columbus leader Leo Segalla, Sr. will be Saturday. He died Sept. 10 at age 75.

He was a cost engineer by profession and a KC leader by passion. He held a number state KC posts before becoming regional program consultant for the Knights Supreme Office, serving on the Supreme Council for a decade.

After retiring, he spent two years developing Grand Knight and District Deputy training programs and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita returned to the Supreme Council to assist councils and members devastated by the storms.

He developed the Louisiana Camp Joshua program (Pro-Life Training Weekend) and the Camp Joshua Institute.

Survivors include his wife Mary Lynn and six children.

Arrangements are by Resthaven.

Teacher of the Year

BATON ROUGE – Services for former Teacher of the Year and clothing store owner Ginger Tillman will be Saturday. She died Sept. 1 at age 53.

She was former co-owner of The Fashion House in Alexandria and was a 15-year teacher at The Runners School and other East Baton Rouge Parish schools, where she was recognized as Teacher of the Year.

Survivors include a sister and a brother.

Arrangements are by Hixson Bros., Alexandria.

Oral surgeon

ALEXANDRIA – Services for long-time oral surgeon Dr. Robert Bruce Phillips will be Friday. He died Sept. 11 at age 84..

Some of the hospitals he worked for include: Huey P. Long Medical Center, Pineville, Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans where he was Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Surgery; Pinecrest Development School, Pineville, where he was a Consultant for the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery; LSU School of Dentistry, New Orleans, LA where he was Clinical Faculty Appointment; Rapides Regional Medical Center, Alexandria, LA as Courtesy Staff and CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital, Alexandria also as Courtesy Staff.

Survivors include his wife Nancy and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Kramer.
