PONCHATOULA – Services for utility executive Paul Barsley will be Saturday. He died Oct. 20 at age 86.

An engineer, he was regional manager for La. Power & Light for more than 30 years.

Survivors include a son and two daughters.

Arrangements are by Harry McKneely.

Tax law expert

NEW ORLEANS – Services for tax law expert and attorney Edward Benjamin, Jr. will be Saturday. He died at age 88.

He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He was a partner in what became Wisdom, Stone, PIgman and Benjamin and later joined Jones, Walker, Waechter, Poitevant, Carrere and Denegre. He was a tax and real estate planning expert and the first elected president of the International Academy of Estate and Trust Law. He was chancellor of the Episcopal Diocese of Louisiana for 19 years.

Survivors include his wife Adelaide and four children.

Arrangements are by Lakelawn, Metairie.

Pilot for Eisenhower

RUSTON – Services for decorated retired Marine Corp Major Harvey Britt are pending. He died Oct. 21 at age 82.

He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars and held the Distinguished Flying Cross with four gold stars. During his career, he was also a pilot for President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

Survivors include several children.

Arrangements are by Owens.

Phone company exec

SHREVEPORT – Services for retired Western Electric/AT&T executive James Bolch will be Saturday. He died Oct. 23 at age 87.

He was a personnel and public relations executive with the utility. He was a former Caddo Parish police juror.

Survivors include his wife June, a son and a daughter.

Arrangements are by Osborn.
