Former CNN exec

GONZALES – Services for former CNN executive David Willis will be Thursday in Sandy Springs, Ga. He died Nov. 26 at age 57.

He grew up in Gonzales and earned a journalism degree from LSU. He joined CNN in 1984, retiring as executive vice president and managing editor of CNN Headline News.

Survivors include three children.

Noted librarian

BATON ROUGE – Services for public school librarian Phylis Heroy will be Saturday. She died Nov. 26 at age 74.

She worked in East Baton Rouge Parish schools and became supervisor of libraries in 1985. She retired as director of library services and instructional technology. She held a number of advisory posts to various state agencies and was chair of the Dept. of Education Electronic Database Advisory Committee.

Survivors include several brothers and sisters.

Arrangements are by Greenoaks.

Attorney, consumer advocate

NEW ORLEANS – Services for attorney and consumer rights advocate Patrick Breeden will be Satueday. He died Nov. 28 at age 80.

He worked for 10 years for the FTC before opening a private practice. He was a member of the House of Delegates for the La. Bar Assn. for more than 20 years and was instrumental in drafting of the La. Unfair Trade Practice & Consumer Protection Law.

Survivors include his wife Margaret and four children.
