William Rowell, Jr., minister

LAFAYETTE -- Services will be Thursday for the Rev. William A. Rowell, Jr., who served United Methodist charges in a number of communities. He died April 18 at age 65.

Rowell served Eunice-Iota and Rayne-Branch among other locales. He was on the board of Louisiana Methodist Children’s Home in Ruston. He was a former Kiwanian of the Year in Franklin and was on the board establishing Habitat for Humanity in St. Mary Parish.

Survivors include his wife Betty, a son and a daughter.

Delhomme is in charge of arrangements.

Harold Landry, furniture store owner

SCOTT -- Services were Tuesday for Harold Landry, former president of the Louisiana Home Furniture Assn. He died April 19 at age 79.

Landry was former owner and operator of Landry’s Furniture World and a former president of the Scott Lions Club.

Survivors include six children.

Arrangements were by Martin & Castille.

Robert Johnson, dentist

MARKSVILLE -- Services for Dr. Robert Johnson, former president of the Academy of General Dentistry, will be Wednesday. He died April 18 at age 66.

Johnson was also on the Council of the National Board of Dental Examiners. He was an avid sportsman and received the Outstanding Sportsman Award from the Marksville Jaycees. He was a past board member of the Marksville General Hospital, Central Louisiana Bank and Trust Company, and a member of Mystick Krew of Louisianans in Washington, D.C.

He was a charter member of Ducks Unlimited and helped formed the organization in Avoyelles Parish.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, a son and three daughters.
