“Spring Bouquet of Debs” was the theme for the evening with Jalisa Raye’Shawn Cook crowned the 2011 Debutante Queen. She was crowned by the 2010 honoree, Jamie Lynn Price, daughter of Gwendolyn Brunfield and James Price.
Jalisa is the 17-year-old daughter of Connie Cook and Danny Wiltz and a junior at Rayne High School. She was escorted for the ball by Victor Fields, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Meaux, Jr.
Named First Runner-Up was Raven Angelle Woods, 16-year-old daughter of Leola Young and Phil Woods. She is a junior at Rayne High School and was escorted for the ball by Keefer Young, son of John and Tiffany Gibson.
Acreisha Deneé Rochon was named Second Runner-Up. She is the 18-year-old daughter of Betty Martin and Joseph Martin. She is a Rayne High School junior and was escorted by Juwan Sims, son of Germaine Babineaux and Robert Sims.
Named Miss Congeniality was Katherine Ann Meche, as voted upon by the Debs. She is the 16-year-old daughter of Carlas Duplechain and Donald Meche. The Rayne High School junior was escorted by Ryan Larry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Larry, Sr.
Also honored during the Ball was Franceta Bernice Wilson, 17-year-old daughter of Cathy Wilson and the late Waveen Wilson. The Rayne High School junior was escorted by Andre Rochon, son of August and Barbara Rochon.
Guests were greeted by Ebonite President Jackie Wiltz, as Christine Freeman served as mistress of ceremonies.
Ladies of the Ebonite Civic and Social Club of Rayne, Inc. and chairpersons Roxyanne Guillory and Evelyn Julian would like to thank the many volunteers who helped with the success of the 2011 Deb Ball.
