A disaster center to help flooded residents from Hurricane Ike will be open in Vermilion Parish on Friday. Six weeks after Hurricane Ike caused extensive flood damage to parts of Vermilion Parish, a disaster center will be set up at the Erath American Legion Hall at 207 North Gine Street.

The hours will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

At the center will be representatives from SBA (Small Business Association) and FEMA.

Cynthia Cowell, a SBA Communication Specialist, said they will be there to help people fill out applications, or answer questions about SBA or FEMA

A recovery center opened Monday in Rayne at the Frog Festival Drive Civic Center. It will be opened only this week.
