During the marathon contest, four pitchers took the mound for the Wolves for the win. Kameron Falcon faced 20 batters with eight strikeouts, Grant Menard saw 11 batters with two strikeouts, Dustin Dupuis faced seven batters with one strikeout, and Hunter Keely finished the game facing the last batter for a strikeout.
The Wolves also tallied hits and runs for the win. Banging out hits for Rayne High were Jake Stelly (5-6), Hunter Keely (1-4), Brice Meche (2-4), Gannon Quibodeaux (1-3), Grant Menard (1-4), Matt Dore (3-3), Kameron Falcon (1--3), Dustin Dupuis (1-2) and Grant Abshire (3-4).
RBI’s lit up the scoreboard on the night with Brice Meche and HUnter Keely with three apiece, Grant Abshire, Jake Stelly, Matt Dore and Dustin Dupuis each with two, and one by Grant Menard, Tyler Lejeune and Kameron Falcon.
The Wolves were schedule to travel to Livonia Wednesday for another district game, followed by a non-district contest at North Vermilion on April 9 for junior varsity action. Seniors will be honored on April 10 as the Wolves host Port Barre.
The Lady Wolves were split during their last two contests.
During Monday’s contest at Northwest, the Lady Wolves run-ruled Northwest in a 22-2 win.
During a home contest Friday, teh Lady Wolves fell to Bruly 8-2 in a non-district matchup.
The Lady Wolves were scheduled to host Senior Night Wednesday when they host Livonia during a make-up contest.
